GM: lunch, February 2013: 91/100 – A combo-platter of octopus, prawns, mussels, clams, surf clams and squid was followed by a plate of ravioli stuffed with monkfish topped up with more fried prawns. Peeping through the tomato sauce there were little bundles of artichoke-paste which had a faint sweet flavour of Kiwi. The dish worked and was washed down by a glass of Medina Chardonnay-Girgentina.
Musically paired with: Incredible Bongo Band – Apache, 1973. This is still a very fresh tune (first recorded by The Shadows) and, this time of year, it reminds me of carnaval. Let there be drums – and seafood, plenty of that!
